One third of the worlds population or 2.7 billion people do not have access to appropriate eyewear for their visual needs. Unfortunately the levels are increasing and are predicted to rise to 3.2 billion by 2050 unless something is done about.

Our buy one give one programme aims to make eyewear accessible to people in need of glasses in developing countries.
It all started from a trip to Zambia of our founders Seamus and his wife Dearbhaile where they first became aware of the shortage of available eyewear and qualified optometrists.
They realised that the local people who needed basic prescriptions for driving or reading were struggling to get access to eyecare facilities as there was a huge shortage of optometrists and when they did there was another problem of a shortage of suitable glasses.
When you buy a pair of blue light glasses from Sapphire Eyewear we donate a pair of glasses on your behalf. Our aim is to help solve the problem of access to eyewear and provide this basic necessity to the people in developing countries. For many people in these countries daily life is a struggle but for those with uncorrected vision deficiencies there is little chance of gaining either employment or education.
We teamed up with our charity partners Mission for Vision who distribute our donated glasses to deprived areas where they are most needed.
